Hand Rotation Drill

Golf Drills are used to improve certain skills and to create the proper feeling for the appropriate functions such as your swing, your grip, your stance etc… You can try them to improve a certain skill that you would like to master. I hope this drill will help your golf swing and your overall game.

 

Rotation of hands and arms:

This drill will help you eliminate a slice and hit the ball straighter.

 

 Backswing:

Rotate the hands and arms so that the toe of the club is pointing horizontally to the right.

The proper rotation of the hands and arms is critical for hitting the ball far and straight.

Forward swing:

Rotate the hands and arms so that the toe of the club is pointing horizontally to the left.

This is a drill to help the average golfer eliminate the slice. If you are holding the club too tightly, this action of turning the arms and club head will not happen at the proper area in your swing. Most of the time, the action is too late. The golfer has hit the ball with the club face being open creating a slice. 

 Animation of rotation drill:

This will help you understand the actions of the hands and arms during the swing. Try getting them to rotate in this manner.

Holding the club too tightly will hinder the proper hand and arm rotation.
